    Description

    Copper Culture spearhead found many years ago in Merriweather, Michigan, near the northwest shore Lake Gogebic.
    I have owned this for almost fifty years.
    It measures 13-1/2 inches in length and weighs about 9-1/2 ounces.
    Someone told me this dates to the Late Archaic period, about 1500 B.C. to 500 A.D.
    Spearheads like this would have been used to hunt and kill bears, I have been told.
    It was found by a little boy about four years old, over fifty years ago, laying in the dirt after a backhoe dug a trench for some pipes or wires in a yard.
