Huge (98") Antique Indonesian Spear (Kalimantan)

Description

Gifted to an oil camp director, the senior manager of a 1970’s remote ‘city’ of expat families, he being the manager of three nearby drilling sites, and the combined mayor, chief of police, and judge for that community.
I was told that the spear came from Kalimantan, although his city/camp was on the northern portion of Sumatra.
He has passed, and I have no other details, other than that he would have acquired it in the late 1970s or early 1980s.
There are a half dozen other spears in his collection, but this one is superior by far, and also the longest (but not heaviest).
Unlike many of his gifted items, this was not new, nor created as a ceremonial piece.
The locals knew he collected antique guns and other weapons.
The spear is obviously older, but TBD.
I did not clean the spearhead or the mounting material (which is covered with a white coating, see photos).
Most definitely not a hand-combat spear, nor a short spear, nor the lighter (and shorter) throwing spear.
This is for a javelin-like throw and killing something large, at range.
The quality of the shaft and overall handling balance just screams for tossing, even though it is heavier than most small/medium game hunting spears.
I have no idea how one finds or crafts a strong, straight shaft of this length and character.
It is an extremely hard wood, unlike some spears that have bamboo or composite shafts.
The spear is 98” long (8’ 2”) and weighs just under three and a half pounds … I would have guessed more.
The tip is approximately 7”x2” with a very conformal mounting style.  It has a good edge, considering that it has not been touched in decades.
The shipping tube (also pictured) is most of the shipping weight, but is industrial strength and will ensure safe arrival.  I have looked at the normal shippers (UPS, USPS, FedEx) and shipping it will cost 100s (with a TBD eBay discount) ... sorry.  I've listed as freight and without markup.  If you're familiar with oversized or freight shipping, you know more than me.  There may be less expensive methods.
